The run is under the banner of “We Run to Help,” and also held under the patronage of His Excellency Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, of which the proceeds this year will be donated to the People’s Hospital, the Misr Al-Khair Foundation, and some of the government hospitals at Al Azhar University and the Coptic Hospital.

The announcement was made during the press conference by General Mohamed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the Zayed Charity Run.

Al Kaabi pointed out that the Zayed Charity Run, from the first moment of its launch in 2005, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him,” has played an influential and effective role in providing aid to various health projects at all its global stations.

He further extended his gratitude to all parties contributing to organising and supporting the success of this charity race, especially Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, and all members of the race’s Supreme Committee.

Al Kaabi also thanked the Abu Dhabi Sports Council for its role, the Higher Organising Committee of the Run, and the sponsors, while wishing all the participants every success in their efforts.

ref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, described the eighth edition of Zayed Charity Run as of great value in the land of Egypt, since the event bears the name of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, a beloved and respected figure among Egyptians.

The Run is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, “may God protect him,” and the generous sponsorship of His Excellency the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, with the participation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Al Awani appreciated the slogan of this year’s marathon, “We Run to Help,” which conveys the importance of everyone’s contribution through sports to benefit the community’s health and wellbeing.

He pointed out that the Zayed Charity Run aims to support hospitals and charitable organisations in Egypt that are concerned with caring for humanitarian cases.

He further emphasised that it represented a new round of communication, goodness and giving, reflecting the values of the UAE and the approach of its wise leadership in supporting goodness and giving to humanity all around the world.
