Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Al Masaood Automobiles Renew Their Strategic Partnership
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Al Masaood Automobiles have announced the renewal of their strategic partnership agreement, enabling them to continue their joint collaboration in supporting and organising major local and international sporting events hosted by the capital city of Abu Dhabi over the next three years.
The new agreement was signed at the Al Masaood Automobiles Nissan showroom in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and Mr. Irfan Tansel, Chief Executive Officer of Al Masaood Automobiles, along with representatives from both parties. This signature marks the formal renewal of the longstanding partnership between the two institutions, which has already delivered significant successes in supporting the sporting movement within the Emirate.
Under the renewed agreement, Al Masaood Automobiles Nissan will continue to provide logistical support and sponsorship for a wide range of events organised by ADSC during the 2025–2028 period. These include world-class and community tournaments such as the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, the Spartan World Championship, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, the Sailing Grand Prix, as well as community events held across Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
This renewal affirms the shared vision of both parties to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global sports destination, and to support national efforts aimed at promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among the community, as well as delivering world-class event hosting in line with the highest international standards.
On this occasion, H.E. Aref Hamad Al Awani expressed his pride in renewing the collaboration with Al Masaood Automobiles, commending the company’s prominent role in supporting sports and community initiatives. He said:
“This long-term partnership with Al Masaood Automobiles reflects our mutual commitment to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s sporting presence internationally, and to providing every ingredient for success for the events held in the Emirate throughout the year. We appreciate this fruitful collaboration which translates our vision of making sport a way of life, a source of happiness and an enhancement of quality of life.”
Al Awani added that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council will continue working with its strategic partners from both the public and private sectors to develop the sports sector and enhance the infrastructure for events, emphasising that private-sector participation is a key pillar for sustaining sporting success.
For his part, Mr. Irfan Tansel said he is proud to extend the cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, confirming that the partnership reflects the longstanding close relationship between the two parties, and Al Masaood Group’s firm commitment to supporting national initiatives that serve the community. He stated:
“We are pleased to continue working with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council in supporting sports and community events which reflect the spirit of progress and vitality in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We believe sport is a powerful tool to promote social cohesion and inspire youth towards excellence and innovation. Supporting youth and sports has always been part of Al Masaood’s DNA and remains one of our key CSR pillars. Our flagship brand Nissan remains deeply connected to the community, and through this partnership, we continue to strengthen that bond while contributing to the development of a competitive new generation that is sports-savvy and health-conscious, both physically and mentally.”
Tansel added: “We will continue to provide our logistical services and latest vehicle models to support the requirements of the various events organised by the Council, ensuring seamless organisational operations and raising the level of services offered to all.”
The renewal of the partnership for the period 2025–2028 is a natural extension of the successful journey between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Al Masaood Automobiles Nissan, which began several years ago and contributed to enhancing Abu Dhabi’s presence on the global sports map by hosting and organising major events, and by attracting elite athletes and talent from around the world to the capital.
