Abu Dhabi Sports Council launches Abu Dhabi 360, an emirate-wide wellness programme
Today, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council unveiled Abu Dhabi 360, a programme dedicated to helping every person in the community achieve whole-person wellness through a personal, attainable journey that redefines health and fitness.
The programme, a comprehensive calendar of events designed to bring the community together and be active, is supported by an app that will help users set and meet wellness goals related not just to nutrition and fitness, but also mental health and social connection.
Abu Dhabi 360 defines health as 360-degree balance of every aspect of wellness: physical, mental, and social.
The Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s goals for Abu Dhabi 360 are driven by the government’s vision to become happier, healthier, and more sustainable.
Today Abu Dhabi 360, a programme dedicated to helping everyone in the community achieve whole-person wellness through an individual, attainable journey that redefines health and fitness, was launched in the capital.
His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili said, “Abu Dhabi 360 has been launched by Abu Dhabi Sports Council to spark a movement toward improved wellness. It supports the Department of Community Development’s vision to help individuals, their families, and the community through an inclusive program that will inspire everyone, regardless of size, shape, age, or skill level, to pursue personal wellness and balance.”
H.E. continued: “Sport is an important enabler of health and wellness and has a positive impact on everyone in the community. Through sport, Abu Dhabi 360 will bring people from different cultures and backgrounds together, which reflects the values and vision of the UAE. The programme is being delivered with a number government partners in the emirate as we work together to make Abu Dhabi the healthiest, happiest, and most sustainable society to live in and visit.”
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said, “Our hope is for Abu Dhabi 360 to spark a movement toward improved wellness—for themselves, their families, and the community. It is an inclusive program that will inspire everyone, regardless of size, shape, age, or skill level, to pursue personal wellness and balance, whatever that looks like for them. This is just the beginning, and we are excited to reveal more in the coming months. The future is ours to transform.”
The Abu Dhabi 360 app provides users with personalised guidance, encouragement, movement tracking, challenges, recipes, and other wellness resources. It will also celebrate users’ wins by awarding points for completing various challenges, including team and community challenges, that they can redeem for event tickets, prizes, and much more. The app integrates with wearable devices, enabling users to be supported wherever they go.
John Bromley, public health consultant and director of the U.K.-based National Social Marketing Centre, said, “Abu Dhabi 360 will be a real game-changer for public health. This multi-pronged, evidence-based program is designed to help people change their behaviour by providing personalised tools that will empower them to improve their own health. Our aim is to ensure that everyone feels as though they have the capability, motivation, and opportunity to be more active in their everyday lives.”
A launch event took place today at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sport and Sports Hub which featured an installation consisting of four immersive wellness zones.
Participants can look forward to a number of upcoming events, all of which will be available on the app. Download the Abu Dhabi 360 app at www.MyAbuDhabi360.ae to find your 360 today.
