Abu Dhabi to Host 'One Run' Community Race on May 24

Abu Dhabi is set to host the 'One Run' International Running Race, recognized as the world's largest half marathon, on May 24, 2025, at Hudayriyat Island, starting at 7:15 PM. The event is a collaborative effort between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Hero League.

Participants can choose from four race categories—half marathon, 10 kilometers, 5 kilometers, and 1 kilometer—catering to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.

This race aligns with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council's mission to promote healthy lifestyles and foster a strong sports culture within the community, aiming to make sports an integral part of daily life and enhance the quality of life in the emirate.

Concurrently, the ninth edition of the 'One Run' International Running Race is anticipated to attract participants from over 30 countries, including Russia, Cameroon, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Morocco, China, Serbia, Pakistan, Argentina, Venezuela, India, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kuwait, Tajikistan, Nepal, Turkey, Yemen, Greece, Belarus, Egypt, Slovenia, South Africa, Peru, Togo, Brazil, Armenia, Malaysia, Jordan, and Chile.

Mr. Talal Mustafa Al Hashmi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, expressed: "We are honored to partner with Hero League in organizing this event at Hudayriyat Island, which has become a premier destination for sports activities in Abu Dhabi."

He further noted: "The 'One Run' race is part of our ongoing efforts to support community initiatives and promote sports as a daily habit, contributing positively to the emirate's quality of life."

Since its inception in 2017, the 'One Run' has seen exponential growth, earning a spot in the Guinness World Records twice. The race expanded internationally in 2023 and was held in 15 countries in 2024, reflecting its global appeal and significance.
