Remarkable successes with the conclusion of the third edition of the Abu Dhabi Government Games Championship

The curtain fell on the third edition of the Abu Dhabi Government Games 2025 last night, Wednesday, March 19. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the event celebrated the holy month of Ramadan, strengthened social ties among government employees in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and promoted sports, emphasizing its importance as a way of life. More than 2,000 male and female employees from 45 government entities participated, with total prizes exceeding AED 1.3 million.

The coronation ceremony was held at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, which hosted the finals of the volleyball, football, and padel tournaments. The other tournament events, which began on March 3, were held at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Sports Hub, Al Forsan International Sports Resort, the Al Wathba Cycling Track, and the Sheikh Zayed Festival.

 The winners were crowned by His Excellency Dr. Yasser Al Naqbi, Director General of the Government Academy; His Excellency Abdullah Ghareeb Al Qamzi, Director General of the Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi; His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Acting Assistant Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council; and His Excellency Talal Mustafa Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Sports Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council.

The Abu Dhabi Police team won the sevens football title, while the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority team finished second and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council team finished third.

In beach volleyball, the Abu Dhabi Police team won the title, while the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority team finished second and third, respectively.

The Advanced Technology Research Council team won the men's three-a-side basketball competition, with the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority team taking second place and the Department of Municipalities and Transport team finishing third. In soft-sided basketball, the Department of Education and Knowledge team won first place, while the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination team finished second and third, respectively.

 The Abu Dhabi Sports Council team won the women's padel title, with the Department of Culture and Tourism taking second place and the Department of Education and Knowledge taking third. The Abu Dhabi Sports Council team also won the men's padel title, with the Advanced Technology Research Council team finishing second and the Department of Municipalities and Transport finishing third.

In badminton, Gautam Gupta from the Department of Municipalities and Transport won first place for men, Ming Dong from the Advanced Technology Research Council took second place, and Ajmal Abdul Latif from the Department of Government Empowerment took third place. In the women's badminton title, Jamila Tulipas from the Advanced Technology Research Council took second place, while Ambika Venugopal from the Statistics Centre took second place, and Hajar Al Shehhi from the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority took third place.

 Abu Dhabi Police excelled in the cycling race held on the Al Wathba Cycling Track. In the women's category, Lubna Al Halwani won first place, followed by her teammate Jelena Novoslak in second place, and Salma Al Ali in third place. In the men's race, Jaber Al Mansouri won first place, his teammate Salmeen Al Shamsi took second place, and Sultan Al Hammadi finished third.

In the 5km running race held at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, Mahra Jassim from Abu Dhabi Police won first place, followed by her teammate Maryam Al Shamsi in second place, and Khadija Al Naqbi in third place. In the men's race for the same distance, Saud Al Zaabi presented the title to Abu Dhabi Police, followed by his teammate Hamad Al Zeyoudi in second place, and Saleh Al Hammadi from the Department of Economic Development in third place.

 The men's chess competition saw Mohammed Al Marzouqi from the Department of Municipalities and Transport win the title, Khalid Al Marzouqi from the Abu Dhabi City Municipality came in second, and Matthias Legge from the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund took third place. On the women's side, Emily Noon from the Department of Municipalities and Transport won the championship, with Mona Al Kaabi from the Department of Education and Knowledge coming in second, and Nada Al Kathiri from the Statistics Centre coming in third.

Humaid Al Suwaidi from the Department of Government Empowerment won the men's table tennis championship, with Mohammed Ahmed Mustafa from the Department of Municipalities and Transport taking second place, and Sherif Mohammed Imam from the Judicial Department taking third place. In the women's chess competition, Dr. Huda Al Salmi from the Abu Dhabi City Municipality won the championship, while Umaima Khater from the Department of Government Empowerment came in second, and Hind Al Ali from the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions and Benefits Fund took third place.

 The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority team won the men's shooting competition, followed by Abu Dhabi Police in second place, and Abu Dhabi City Municipality in third place. In the women's shooting competition, the Abu Dhabi Police team won the title, while the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions Fund team came in second and the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center in third place.

The Abu Dhabi Police team won the women's fitness competition, with the Abu Dhabi Retirement Pensions Fund team coming in second and the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority team in third. During the ceremony, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority was awarded the Most Participating Entity Shield, while the Abu Dhabi Police team received the Sports Excellence Shield. The coordinators of the participating entities and the volunteer team were also honored, as they contributed to the organization and success of the third edition of the Abu Dhabi Government Games 2025.
