Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner and new Red Jersey Tadej Pogacar said: "It feels amazing to get the first win of the year, finally back racing and super happy with a victory after three days. It was hard for the guys to control the race because it was a long stage. We got no help whatsoever until the final climb. We executed the plan very well. Everybody in the team deserves the victory. We asked Ineos if they wanted to pay honor to the jersey but Rune [Herregodts] was left pulling all day. Lotto helped us a bit and we tried to do the climb at our pace. It's special to win in the UAE with the rainbow jersey. Part of me was hoping that Joshua Tarling would hold on to the bunch and retain the red jersey but I'll be more than happy to wear the race leader's jersey tomorrow. The GC is not over though. In three flat stages, you never know what can happen here. Tomorrow we'll only past half way into the race".
