The 19th edition of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship launches in November Elite golfers, including the likes of McIlroy, Fleetwood, and Rose set to compete
Sponsored by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and organised by the European Tour, the 19th edition of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, which is also a Rolex Series event and part of the opening qualifiers for the DP World Tour, will be held at the Yas Links course on Yas Island, for the third consecutive time, over 4 days from 7 to 10 November.
The tournament will witness the participation of several elite international golfers (the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai rankings) competing for a place in the final event of this season, which will be held at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai from 14 to 17 November. Golf fans will receive free tickets to the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, held at one of the most beautiful golf courses in the region.
The tournament will feature golf’s biggest stars, including Rory McIlroy, who is looking to end the season with two tournaments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai respectively, and 2024 Olympic silver medallist Tommy Fleetwood, who will be joined by former world number ones Adam Scott and Justin Rose. DP World Tour winners Robert MacIntyre and Thriston Lawrence, two of the brightest talents on the DP World Tour – named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year in 2019 and 2022 respectively, will also compete, having already secured seven wins on the tour between them. MacIntyre famously won the Genesis Scottish Open last July, the second Rolex Series event of the year.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, said: “We are proud to see the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship, the first Rolex Series tournament, return to Yas Links for the third consecutive time. We are delighted to welcome the line-up of international stars back to compete on this amazing course once again, and wish everyone the best of luck as we set out to provide an unforgettable experience for the fans during an exciting and competitive weekend.”
Al Awani emphasised the Abu Dhabi Sports Council’s commitment to hosting major prestigious international tournaments, after achieving great success in attracting the most prominent franchises. These successes underscore the UAE and Abu Dhabi’s talent in organising international sports tournaments, which is an important aspect of promoting the country through mutual trust with the federations and international bodies that own the rights to these franchises.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship will provide a full programme for the entire family during tournament days, including activities dedicated to children, giant screens to enhance the viewing experience and other events, such as concerts, in addition to the famous Ladies Day and Family Days.
Fans looking for a premium experience can purchase tickets for chalets and balconies overlooking the 18th hole, and take advantage of priority parking, shaded seating, and other benefits.
